About Me
Hi, I am Asha, hailing from Kerala, popularly known as "God's own Country". I finished my Masters in Computer Engineering and currently staying in U.S with my husband Kiran . I loved cooking from my very young age and my passion for cooking came to me from my "Mom" who is an excellent cook. I always like to taste and try out various cuisines. In my childhood me and my sister used to do lot of cooking experiments together .Some of them were a 'success' and some were 'flop' . But whatever the result, our parents always encouraged us. Our 'Achan' (father) always gave us open feedbacks which has helped us to improve further and 'Amma'(mother) gave us full freedom to enter into her world, the 'Kitchen' and there started my cooking journey........!!!!
After coming here, I got enough free time and started doing further cooking experiments which has helped me to improve my culinary skills. Like my parents, my husband also encouraged me a lot. He is my greatest 'supporter' and my best 'critic'. I started trying different recipes from different regions and started to pen down some of them in my 'cookbook' and one day my husband asked me "Why don't you write a cooking blog so that you can share your recipes with others and can also keep it as a reference for your own future use". Creating a blog was out of question for me as I always felt very lazy to measure the ingredients and cook. It was my husband's inspiration and my friends' suggestion to share my recipes that led me to create my cooking blog "NaavinRuchi".
This blog includes both traditional and contemporary food that I have come across.Since I have just started my journey, there are only a few recipies. Will update more soon in upcoming days. The blog includes recipes mainly from my mom, friends, family and my own tried and tested recipes. Since I come from Kerala, I love "spicy" food. I am also fond of " sweets".In my recipes I have used them according to my tolerance level. The salt and spice level varies with different people and should be adjusted according to one's taste. But whenever you cook, there is one important thing to remember which my mother used to say " Whatever you Cook ,Cook with 'Love'. It enhances the Flavour.......". All the recipes included in this blog are tried and tested by me and my family and the photographs included are the results of my own cooking experiments. Please go through my blog and share your valuable suggestions and comments.
