Chicken Malli Peralan (Coriander Chicken Roast)

Coriander Chicken Roast
Ingredients

  • Chicken pieces - 500 gms
  • Onion - 2
  • Tomato -1
  • Crushed ginger - 1 tsp
  • Crushed garlic  - 1 tsp
  • Green chilli  - 2
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander Powder -2 tbsp
  • Crushed Pepper powder - 1 1/2 tsp
  • Garam Masala powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Curry Leaves
  • Coriander Leaves - 1 handful
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil - 3tbsp
  • Water -1/4 cup
  • Bay leaves -1
  • Cardamom-2
  • Cloves -2


To marinate

  • Salt - 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Pepper powder -  1/2tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1/4 tsp
  • Garam Masala powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Green chilli -2


Method
-------------
  1. Clean and cut the chicken into medium size pieces.Marinate it with ingredients in "To marinate" section  and keep for at least 2hrs.
  2. Grind together chilli, coriander,turmeric powders, 1 tomato and coriander leaves to a paste.
  3. In a pan add oil.Add cardamom ,cloves,bay leaves.Saute ginger ,garlic, curry leaves.
  4. Add onions and saute till it becomes light brown.At this stage add grounded paste and saute till raw smell disappears and oil starts oozing out.
  5. Add marinated chicken pieces and mix well.Close lid and cook until half done . (No need to add water as water will start oozing from chicken).
  6. Add water and cook again till the gravy thickens.
  7. Add garam masala, crushed pepper powder and mix well.
