Chilli idli
This is one of the best way to use the leftover idlis.It can be eaten as a snack or as a meal. If you are fed up eating the usual idli just try this out.!!!
Ingredients

- Idli - 4 nos
- Onion - 1 big (cut into cubes)
- Capsicum - 1/4 cup (cut in cubes)
- Garlic - 5 pods (cut into small pieces)
- Spring onion
- Kashmiri chilli powder - 1 tsp
- Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
- Salt - to taste
- Sugar - 1 pinch
- Tomato sauce - 1 1/2 tsp
- Soya sauce - 1/2 tsp
- Chilli sauce - 1 tsp
- Corn flour - 2 tsp
- Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
- Celery stick - 1 chopped
Method

- Cut the idlis into cubes .
- Make a marinade by adding 1/2 tsp chilli powder, cornflour, pepper powder, salt and ginger garlic paste, add little water to mix all ingredients well to form a smooth paste.
- Coat the idlis with this batter and keep aside for 15 mins.
- After that fry in oil (deep or shallow fry according to your taste).and keep aside.
- Add oil to a heated pan add chopped garlic,1 tsp chopped celery (it enhances flavour ), then onions and saute in high flame till onion becomes translucent and is still crispy.
- Reduce flame and add all sauces and kashmiri chilli powder and salt.U can add little water at this stage if the mix is so thick.
- Add cubed capsicum and saute for a while.
- Add a pinch of sugar or 1 tsp honey to neutralize taste.
- add fried idlis and mix well.Lastly add crushed pepper .
- Garnish with chopped celery and spring onions.
Notes
------
- Olive oil works best for this recipe.
- If you are health conscious you can lightly fry the idlis with 1 tsp of oil in a non stick pan.
- Sugar can be substituted with 1 tsp honey.
