Achinga (Long Bean) Mezhukkupuratti







Ingredients

  • Achinga Payar (Long bean) - 1 cup
  • Shallots - 1/4 cup (chopped)
  • Curry Leaves
  • Mustard seeds- 1/4 tsp
  • Green Chilli - 2 slit
  • Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Salt - To taste
  • Water - 1/4 cup


Method

  1. Cut payar into 1 inch long pieces.
  2. Cook it with salt, water and green chilli until done. 
  3. Heat a pan. Add oil and splutter mustard seeds.
  4. Saute chopped shallots, curry leaves until brown.
  5. Add chilli and turmeric powder and saute .
  6. Add cooked payar and saute for 5 mins.
  7. Serve hot with rice.
