Muringa Ila (Drumstick leaves) Parippu Thoran






Ingredients

  • Drumstick Leaves - 1 cup
  • Green chilli -1
  • Curry Leaves
  • Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
  • Red Chilli  - 1
  • Oil- 1 tsp
  • Salt - To taste
  • Cooked Chana Dal - 2 tbsp

To Grind (Coarse)

  • Coconut - 1/4 cup
  • Pearl Onion-2 nos
  • Jeera (Cumin) -1 pinch
  • Salt - 1 pinch

Method
------------
  1. Separate the drumstick leaves from stem
  2. Wash and clean well and soak in water adding 1/2 tsp turmeric powder for 5 mins
  3. Drain and keep aside. .
  4. In a pan add oil. Splutter mustard seeds,red chilli and curry leaves.
  5. Add drumstick leaves .
  6. Add salt, turmeric powder, green chilli and close lid and cook for 5 mins
  7. Add cooked chana dal and mix well
  8. Add grounded coconut mixture and saute for 2 mins
  9. Serve hot with rice
