Nadan Kozhi (Chicken) Curry
Ingredients

- Chicken pieces - 500 gms
- Onion - 1 (cut lengthwise into thin pieces)
- Shallots (chopped) - 1 cup
- Tomato (chopped) - 1/4 cup
- Potato (cut into big cubes) - 1 small
- Crushed ginger - 1 tsp
- Crushed garlic - 1 tsp
- Green chilli (slit lengthwise) - 4
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Kashmiri Chilli powder - 2 1/2 tbsp
- Coriander Powder -1tbsp tbsp
- Garam Masala powder - 1/2 tsp
- Curry Leaves
- Salt - to taste
- Oil - 3tbsp + 2 tsp
- Water -1/2 cup
To marinate

- Salt - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Chilli powder - 2 tsp
- Ginger garlic paste - 1/4 tsp
- Garam Masala powder - 1/4 tsp
Method

- Clean and cut the chicken into medium size pieces.Marinate it with ingredients in "To marinate" section and keep for at least 2hrs.
- In a pan add oil.Saute ginger ,garlic, curry leaves.
- Add onions and shallots,green chilli and saute till it becomes light brown.
- At this stage add turmeric and kashmiri chilli and saute till raw smell disappears and oil starts oozing out.
- Add chopped tomato and saute till oil starts oozing from the gravy.
- Add marinated chicken pieces and mix well.Add 1/2 cup water. Close lid and cook until half done.
- When chicken is half done add cubed potato
- Cover and cook again till the chicken and potato is cooked completely and the gravy thickens.
- Sprinkle garam masala.
- Last add fresh curry leaves and 2 tsp coconut oil
