Paal kanji







Ingredients

  • Payasam Rice ( unakkalari) - 1 cup
  • Water  - 5 cup
  • Thin Coconut Milk - 1 cup
  • Thick coconut Milk - 1/2 cup
  • Salt - To taste


Method

  1. Wash the rice well and put in a pressure cooker.
  2. Add 5 cups of water , salt and cook until done.
  3. When pressure is released open the lid and add thin coconut milk and bring to boil.
  4. Reduce flame and add thick coconut milk.Check salt.add more if needed.
  5. Serve hot with pickle and payar thoran. It can also be eaten alone.
