Chilli Beef




Ingredients

  • Beef  - 350 gm
  • Onion - 1 large ( cubed)
  • Onion chopped - 2 tbsp
  • Green Bell Pepper - 1 /2 cup ( cubed)
  • Chopped Garlic - 11/2 tbsp
  • Chopped Ginger - 1 tbsp
  • Crushed Pepper - 1 tsp
  • Cornflour - 1 tbsp
  • Soy Sauce - 2 tbsp
  • Tomato sauce - 3 tbsp
  • Chilli sauce - 1 tbsp
  • Celery - 2 tbsp (chopped)
  • Spring Onion - 1 tbsp (chopped)
  • White Vinegar - 1 tbsp
  • Water - 4 tbsp
  • Honey - 1 tsp
  • Salt - To taste
  • Olive Oil - 4 tbsp




To marinate beef

  • Ginger garlic Paste - 1 tbsp
  • Green Chilli - 2 
  • Soy Sauce - 1 tbsp
  • Pepper powder - 2 tsp
  • Salt


Method
----------------
  1. Clean and cut the beef to small cubed pieces.
  2. Marinate it with the ingredients given in "To marinate" section and keep aside for  at least 1 hr. Marinate overnight gives more flavor.
  3. Make a sauce by mixing cornflour, soy sauce ,tomato sauce , chilli sauce, and pepper powder, honey , vinegar and water.(divide this sauce into  2 parts)
  4. In a heated non stick pan add 2 tbsp olive oil.
  5. Add marinated beef and pan fry it till it is completely cooked and transfer it to a plate.
  6. In the same pan add 2 tbsp olive oil. Saute garlic, ginger, chopped onions, celery and spring onion whites till it becomes light brown. 
  7. Add cubed onions and saute till it gets sightly wilted.They should not be overcooked. The crunchiness should remain. 
  8. Add the rest of prepared sauce and saute for a while.
  9. Add the pan fried beef and mix well.
  10. Add cubed capsicum and saute gently.
  11. Garnish with chopped celery and spring onions.
  12. Serve hot .
  13. Tastes best with fried rice, appam etc.


Notes
---------
  • When frying the onion and capsicum do not overcook it.The crunchiness should remain.
  • As a healthy version you can pressure cook the beef instead of frying and then saute with veggies.
  • While cooking, saute the vegetables in high flame.
