Masala Dosa





Ingredients
---------------
  • Dosa batter -  3 cup (for recipe click Dosa)
  • Ghee/Oil -As needed


For masala
------------
  • Potato-1
  • Onion -1
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Ginger - 1 tsp
  • Green chilli - 2
  • Red chilli -2
  • Curry leaves- few
  • Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
  • Chilli powder- 1/4 tsp
  • Chana dal - 1tsp



Method

For preparing Masala

  1. Peel the skin of the potato and cook with adequate salt, turmeric powder and water in a pressure cooker.
  2. When pressure is released open and gently mash the potatoes.
  3. In a  pan add oil.Splutter mustard seeds, chana dal, curry leaves and red chilli.
  4. Saute ginger slices followed by onion and green chilli.
  5. Add chilli and turmeric powder.
  6. Add mashed potatoes and give a nice mix.
  7. The "masala " is ready.Keep aside.


















For masala dosa
------------------------
  1. Heat a tawa and pour dosa batter and spread well. Add oil/ghee.
  2. When the bottom of dosa turns golden brown , add required quantity of prepared masala and spread well.
  3. Roll the dosa to desired shape  and serve hot with some Sambar, chutney and Onion Chutney (ulli chammanthi).
