Rava Upma

- Rava/Semolina -1 cup
- Water- 1 cup
- Coconut grated- 1/4 cup
- Green chilli- 2 (chopped)
- Ginger - 1 inch piece(chopped)
- Salt - To taste
- Oil/ butter - 1 tbsp
- Mustard Seeds- 1 tsp
- Curry Leaves - few
Method

- In a heated pan dry roast rava for 1 min and keep aside in a plate.(take care not to burn rava).
- Heat a kadai. Add 1 tsp oil and splutter mustard seeds.
- Add chopped ginger, green chilli and curry leaves and saute for 1 min.It should not be brown.
- Add water and required quantity of salt .Cover with lid and allow the water to boil.
- Now open the lid and add roasted rava slowly continuously stirring with the other hand.
- Reduce the flame and keep in sim for few mins until the rava is cooked completely.
- Add grated coconut and mix well.
- Serve hot with pazham, pappadam and payar thoran.
