Sweet Boli








Ingredients

For outer  layer
------------------------
  • All Purpose Flour - 11/2 cup
  • Salt - 1/2 tsp
  • Sugar - 4 tbsp
  • Water
  • Oil 

For inner layer
------------------ 
  • Chana dal - 1 cup
  • Sugar - 1/4 cup
  • Cardomom Powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Ghee - 2 tbsp

For dusting and smearing

  • Rice flour - 1/2 cup
  • Ghee 
Method
-------------
  1. Mix all the ingredients for the outer layer to make a smooth dough.
  2. Add oil and keep aside for atleast 20 minutes and make small balls.
  3. Soak chana dal in water for half an hour.
  4. Pressure cook dal until done . Remove excess water and smash well.
  5. Add sugar , cardamom powder and ghee and mix it well on flame  until you  get a tighter dough. (You can increase the quantity of sugar if needed according to your taste.)
  6. Cool down and make small balls.
  7. Roll out the maida dough to small circle.
  8. Place the chana dal ball inside .Cover it.
  9. Dust in rice flour and roll out as thin as possible
  10. Place the rolled boli on a hot tawa.
  11. When bubble starts appearing,  turn the other side.
  12. Smear ghee over top
  13. Tastes best with palpayasam.
