Canned Tuna Peera (Tuna / Choora Thoran)






Ingredients

  • Canned Tuna - 1 tin
  • Green chilli - 3
  • Shallots -3
  • Chopped ginger - 1 tsp
  • Chopped garlic - 1 tsp
  • Grated coconut - 1 cup
  • Curry Leaves
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder -1/2 tsp
  • Kudampuli/Cambodge - 1 piece
  • Salt - To Taste
  • Oil- 1 tsp
  • Water - 1/4 cup

To Grind (Coarse)

  • Coconut - 1 cup
  • Pearl Onion-2 nos
  • Chopped ginger - 1 tsp
  • Chopped garlic - 1 tsp
  • Green chilli -2
  • Salt - 1/2 tsp




Method
------------
  1. Soak kudampuli in 1/4 cup water.
  2. In a pan add oil. Splutter mustard seeds.
  3. Add 3 chopped shallots, 1 tsp ginger and garlic ,curry leaves,.and saute till it is wilted
  4. Add the washed and drained  canned tuna pieces, turmeric powder salt and slit green chilli and soaked kudampuli with water and mix well.
  5. Close lid and cook for 5 mins.
  6. Allow the water to dry completely.
  7. Meanwhile grind the ingredients given in "To grind" to coarse.
  8. Add the grounded coconut mixture.
  9. Top with 1 tsp coconut oil and curry leaves.
  10. Cover and cook for 2 mins.
  11. Then open lid and mix well.
  12. Serve hot with rice.
